COMMUNITY members are encouraged to look at ways they can become “mental health heroes” during the Mental Health Week Expo, to be held at Glenorchy LINC on 11 October.
From 11am-1pm, Glenorchy LINC will transform into a hive of activity with stalls, interactive activities and events.
Hosted by the Glenorchy City Council and Glenorchy LINC, the expo aims to engage people in activities that promote mental health and wellbeing, as well as raise awareness and understanding about mental health issues and how they affect the lives of people in the community.
The event is part of Mental Health Week 2017, which runs from 8-14 October.
This year’s Mental Health Week theme is “Stronger Together”, which embraces the idea of communities working together to build resilience, support each other through tough times, celebrate diversity and promote the things we can do to maintain our mental health and encourage people to seek help when they need it.
The Stronger Together expo is funded by The Mental Health Council of Tasmania.
