IT was a colourful celebration for migrant communities from across the northern suburbs recently when the Lions Club of Glenorchy played host to the Multicultural Council of Tasmania’s (MCOT) ‘Family Friendly Community Dinner.’
Lions Club of Glenorchy secretary Jenny Pritchett said the evening was an opportunity for the Lions to say thank you for the contribution migrants were making to the City of Glenorchy.
“The City of Glenorchy Lions Club recognises that a socially inclusive and accepting community is a more productive, positive and happier community,” she said.
“We hope the evening is the first of many events for us – now, more than ever, it is so important that as a community we are encouraging and celebrating our diversity.”
The City of Glenorchy Lions Club gifted a donation to the MCOT to contribute toward the ongoing activities at the Moonah Multicultural Hub.
If you’d like to be involved in the next Family Friendly Community Dinner please phone the Moonah Multicultural Council of Tasmania on 6285 9907.
