Christmas is calling

GLENORCHY City Council is calling for volunteers to help at the 2018 ‘Glenorchy Carols: A Not So Silent Night’ at the Tolosa Park Soundshell on Saturday 8 December.

Glenorchy City Council major events officer Pippy Edwards said volunteers would play an important role in assisting patrons to enjoy the festivities.

“Volunteers help us create a great atmosphere that really adds to the spirit of the event,” she said.

“There are many roles that people could choose to help with, including assisting performers, working backstage, helping run activities in the Holiday Village marquee, working in the information booth, conducting surveys and assisting with event set up or pack up.

“Volunteers can commit to a few days in the lead up to the event or just a couple of hours.

“We want all our helpers to have a brilliant time working on the event and will make sure everyone has time to also enjoy the carols.”

Volunteering can be a great way for community members to meet new people, gain experience in event management and get some insight into the operations of Glenorchy City Council.

There are no special requirements for volunteers, except attendance of a short induction/information session prior to the event.

If you would like to volunteer for Glenorchy Carols 2018, email carols@gcc.tas.gov.au or phone Glenorchy City Council major events officer Pippy Edwards on 6216 6800.
